Visit the home of the South Island's 3rd largest public art museum. Established in 1956 in the house called Aigantighe (pronounced 'egg and tie") which in Scottish Gaelic means 'at home'. This unique art museum holds New Zealand, Asian, Pacific & European art works from the 16th century to the present day including paintings by Frances Hodgkins, C.F. Goldie, van der Velden and Colin McCahon. |
